Big Lakes announces promotion, new hire
Big Lakes Developmental Center, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of two staff.

Cindy Diederich has recently been promoted to the position of Director of CDDO Administration. Diederich has worked at Big Lakes since 1995. In her new position, Diederich will act as the liaison in matters pertaining to affiliation with other community service providers and subsequent regulatory requirements.

Teresa Still has recently been hired at Big Lakes Developmental Center as the CDDO Admissions Director. Still will serve as the contact person for all individuals with developmental disabilities who are seeking services within Big Lakes' service area. She will determine eligibility for services and inform individuals of the services available.

The state of Kansas uses a single point-of-entry method for people wanting developmental disability (DD) services. The Community Developmental Disability Organization (CDDO) is that single point-of-entry. Within its organizational structure, Big Lakes functions as both a CDDO and a Community Service Provider (CSP). The responsibility of the CDDO is two-fold: to find out if the person qualifies for DD services, and, if they do, to determine their level of funding based on their needs and abilities. Big Lakes is one of 27 Community Developmental Disability Organizations (CDDOs) in the state.
