Staff Attend the Power Up! Conference

Hosted by InterHab - The Premier Association of I/DD Providers

Beginning October 23rd, 15 members of the Big Lakes team attended the three-day Power Up! Conference, hosted by InterHab at the Hilton Garden Inn right here in Manhattan. This annual event is an opportunity for our team to expand their skills, network with others in the field, and find fresh solutions for serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).


The conference featured numerous breakout sessions and inspiring keynote speakers, fueling our staff with new ideas and enthusiasm to share with their colleagues and integrate into their daily work. We were especially proud to have two of our own, Liz Holle, Deputy Operations Officer, and Amy Phillips, Community Integration and Support Services Manager, present a breakout session. They led a session titled “Developing Simple Data Tools for Easy Analysis to Drive Strategic Planning and Person-Centered Plan Development,” where they shared valuable insights and practical tools for streamlining data-driven support for individuals with IDD.


A highlight of the Power Up! Conference each year is the InterHab Annual Arts and Awards Ceremony, which honors individuals and businesses that have made a meaningful impact on the IDD community. This year, we were thrilled to celebrate Dara’s Corner Market, which received the Outstanding Business Award for its exceptional commitment to employing our clients and offering the support they need to thrive in the workplace.


We’re excited to see how our team channels the inspiration and knowledge gained at this year’s conference to continue improving our services at Big Lakes.
